If you learn to start your nights early, there's lots on offer in the city

I arrived in Bangalore, from the United States, with an open mind, ready to explore and experience as much of the city and the rest of South India as possible in my five-week stay.u00a0 I was hoping to delve into the nightlife of India's Pub City as well.u00a0 When I initially heard of the 11:30 pm closing time, I was somewhat shocked, as most pubs in the US are open until 2 am or later.u00a0 At home, it is not unusual for people to start their night at 10 pm or 11 pm.u00a0 If you were to do that in Bangalore, you would miss almost all of the night's activities.u00a0 It has taken some getting used to, but the nightlife in Bangalore is fun I have just had to learn to start my nights a little earlier.u00a0 After over a week in Bangalore, here is how I have found some of the nightlife around town:

The Beach, 1211, 100 Feet Road, HAL II Stage, Indiranagar
This is the pub I have frequented the most, as it is close to where I am staying and offers a different atmosphere every night of the week.u00a0 As the name suggests, The Beach is fitted with a sand floor and a fake ocean breeze, giving it a laid back feel.u00a0 The crowd is mostly young people and the on weekends, despite the somewhat pricey cover charge, the place is crowded and a live DJ plays electronic music and hip-hop all night.u00a0
Other nights are a little more relaxed, but The Beach is always a good place to go and enjoy the coastal ambiance.

Soul Deli Cafe, 65 Bluemoon Complex MG Road
Soul does not provide the dance party of The Beach, but is a place nice to go and unwind when you're not in the mood for wild night.u00a0 They don't serve alcohol, but they do offer moderately-priced sheeshah and a menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, and deserts.u00a0 The crowd has a wide age range and when it is not incredibly busy, the service is good.u00a0 The only complaint I have is that the same few Akon songs seem to be on repeat every time I have been, but regardless, I have enjoyed myself each time.u00a0u00a0

The 13th Floor, #84, Barton Centre, MG Road
Located on the 13th floor of Barton Centre, this pub has a spectacular view of the city, making it a nice place to come and have a few drinks. The bar offers indoor and outdoor seating with comfortable cushions and sofas to lie back on.u00a0 The clientele is mostly business people, but the food and drinks are reasonably priced and the view alone makes coming here a worthwhile trip for anyone.u00a0 This is not the place to come if you are looking for a crazy night, but it is still worth seeing.u00a0
u00a0
NASA Bar and Lounge, 1/4 Church Street
I have noticed that themed pubs are more present in Bangalore than where I am from on the west coast of the US.u00a0 Sometimes they work well and create a fun ambiance, and other times the decor feels forced and cheesy.

NASA falls into the latter category.u00a0 The night I went to this space-themed pub was the one night in Bangalore I did not particularly enjoy myself.u00a0The space-suit-wearing waiters and futuristic lights did not create the most welcoming feeling, and the shuttle-shaped building seemed a bit over the top.u00a0 I have had fun exploring Bangalore's nightlife, but this is the one pub I would not recommend.u00a0u00a0
