The newly-opened French Loaf in Viman Nagar offers a variety of cakes and bakes. Located in the ground floor of the same building which houses Zara Tapas and Kokum, the place is bustling with activity all the time.
Ambience: The du00e9cor is trendy and young. The whole place has a very organised, yet relaxed look. It is well-lit with a mix of natural and artificial lighting and the seating area has comfortable orange chairs and white tables.
The display counter is divided into vegetarian, non-vegetarian and dessert sections.u00a0
We liked: From the non-vegetarian section, we opted for the Frank Furter (Rs 65), which was puff dough, stuffed with chicken sausage and garnished with herbs. It was freshly-baked and crisp and the chicken blended well with the crust of the puff. You can also try it with tomato and mustard sauce. The Tex Mex Veg Pie (Rs 65) was stuffed with sautu00e9ed paneer, onion and capsicum, but tasted the same as the Frank Furter. It was a bit spicy and you could get a slight taste of garlic. For dessert, we chose the Eggless Fruit Tart (Rs 75). We liked the colourful presentation, where the custard cream base was topped with fresh kiwi, black grapes, strawberry, peach, pineapple and pear.
Varieties: The French Loaf stocks Indian as well as inter-continental breads. Choose from the Pav Bun (Rs 30), Dinner Roll (Rs 30) to the French Loaf Mini (Rs 35) and Italian Cheese Bread (Rs 80). If you are health-conscious, you can try the Puravita Energy (Rs 65), Omega-3 (Rs 65), Whole Wheat (Rs 55), Rye and Multi Seed Rush (Rs 70) and Soya Linseed Loaf (Rs 70). They also offer Chicken Puff (Rs 30), Cheese Croissant (Rs 40), Blue Berry Custard (Rs 50), Apple Tartlette (Rs 55) and Chicken Quiche (Rs 65).
Check out their Walnut Cruble (Rs 70), Dates and Walnut Cake (Rs 160), Turkey Brownie (Rs 65) and Honey Raisin Muffin (Rs 65). They also stock sugar-free muffins and cookies. At their confectionery section, you can gorge on the Kiwi Mousse (Rs 75), Chocolate Banana (Rs 80) and Chocolate Fantasy (Rs 70). And if the hot sun has you in the mood for something refreshing, grab a Smoothie (Rs 65), Hazelnut Latte (Rs 65) or Tropical Splash (Rs 70).
