"The trustee had warned me four days ago and had asked me to recite the verses properly and clearly, but tonight it happened again and he reacted violently," said Sharma.
"Stammering is not a big issue but he just got very angry and attacked me. And this time, I didn't even give him the ashirwaad which just made him furious," he added.
The incident took place at 10 pm and left Sharma with multiple bruises all over his face. The others attending the pooja had to pull apart Sharma and Rao who had started fighting before the police could arrive.
However, the police registered the complaint only at 2.15 am.
Head Constable Thimmaiah from Malleshwaram police station, said, "A complaint has been filed here but we don't intend to register an FIR. We will help both parties make peace among themselves."u00a0
