Onu00a0 June 5, as the world observes Environment Day, eco warriors in the city will be busy cleaning up parks, planting saplings and pledging to save the greenery around them.
Industrialists led by Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Dr Sudarshan Maini and Dr Madhav Mehra willu00a0 be among those who will take the pledge to do their bit to save the environment.
Dr Mehra, whose slogan Proactivate will set the tone of the campaign, will also lead green initiatives like clean-up drives at 625 parks across the city. As part of the tree-planting drive, 400 saplings have already been planted on the campus of various corporate houses.
"The motive of this event is to raise awareness about the damage being caused by humans," saidu00a0 Sudarshan Maini, founder of Reva.
