PM Narendra Modi said the new campus of Nalanda University in Rajgir showcases India's capability & added that this revival marks beginning of India's golden age.

According to PM Modi, Nalanda is not just a name but a mantra that signifies the enduring nature of knowledge. 

PM Modi highlighted that Nalanda has historically been a centre of global education, welcoming students from various nations. He said that the new campus continues this legacy.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the support of various countries in the reconstruction of Nalanda University. He appreciated the participation of partner countries.

PM Modi noted that the university admitted students regardless of nationality, showcasing India's inclusive approach to education.

Modi linked the significance of Nalanda's revival with International Yoga Day, celebrated on June 21. He mentioned that yoga, which has deep roots in Indian culture, is now a global phenomenon.

PM Modi said he envisions for India to become a centre of education and knowledge globally. He emphasised India's long-standing model of sustainability and its ability to lead the globe with creative concepts such as Mission Life, which combines progress and environmental stewardship.

The new Nalanda campus is designed as a 'Net Zero' Green Campus, focusing on sustainability. It incorporates solar plants, water treatment facilities, and water recycling systems.

The Prime Minister mentioned that Nalanda University will play a crucial role in cultural exchange programmes, particularly with ASEAN countries. The university aims to document various artworks and establish a Common Archival Resources Centre, said PM Modi.

The new campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including academic blocks with 40 classrooms, auditoriums, a student hostel, an international centre, and a sports complex.
