There is a vast difference between those who have contracted Covid-19 post the first vaccine shot, and breakthrough infections that have affected people after they have taken two doses.

The standout point is that the number of people afflicted with Covid-19 post two jabs was much less compared to those with one. Studies have also shown us that mortality goes down significantly with two vaccine shots.

Civic authorities are telling people to complete their two doses after, of course, finishing with the required time frame and becoming eligible for the second jab.
There are those who are becoming complacent after the first dose. Others are putting off taking the second dose citing difficulties in accessing the venue, or, some sudden misgivings they have after the first dose.

Unless medically advised not to do so, one needs to take the second dose to ensure immunity to a certain extent. This is not to say there will be no breakthrough infection ever that may become serious. Yet, it is a shield as of now, and must be used properly to ensure maximum efficacy. Some reports state that people are not going for the second dose, simply because they have surmised one is alright.

This is unacceptable and akin to leaving a medicine course halfway, simply because one thinks they are doing well. At a time when the world is debating a third dose, and booster shots, though of course there is plenty of debate about that, it is important we take the second dose as recommended by the vaccine mandate.

Every development gives rise to debate with certain countries saying people who have had Covid-19 and take one dose may be protected. We need to follow what the state government says though and two shots it is. Do not skip this for frivolous and avoidable reasons.
