A woman called Jennifer was dumped by boyfriend who put up signs on highway telegraph polesA woman named Jennifer became the talk of Sydney after she was unceremoniously through posters put up on telegraph poles.
Early yesterday morning, her supposed lover erected five separate signs in the suburb of Avalon. His feelings started out as romantic: "Jennifer, will you marry me?" the first sign said.
But the next one said, "Just joking, we're breaking up." And the following one added, "You have six days to get out."
Locals were divided over whether the increasingly bitter signs were a joke or whether to feel sorry for Jennifer.

"I was on my bike when I first saw it. I was laughing my head off," said retailer Jeff Kahler. "There has been really good signs, but I reckon it is one of the best."
Added Rhiannon Johnston, "I think it is a prank. If not, it is really mean or Jennifer really screwed up big time."
Councilmen later took down the signs not to preserve Jennifer's dignity, but because the man behind the signs hadn't received permission to put them up.
