AR Rahman: My father used to wake up facing a photo of Lata Mangeshkar

AR Rahman was recently awarded the prestigious Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award at a ceremony in Mumbai. During his acceptance speech, AR Rahman shared that his father had deep respect for the Mangeshkar family. He said, “My father, when he was working in the film industry down south, used to get up facing Lata Mangeshkar ji’s photograph. So, when I became a composer from the south and the enormous love I got from you guys, changed my life. One thing I tell my family – my kids – is that look at the Mangeshkar family. The dedication they have. today we need that, today we need to celebrate the dedication of Lata ji, Asha ji, Hridaynath ji and the whole family. Hridaynath ji keeps asking me what I like about him. I say, ‘everything’.”

Diljit, AR Rahman, Parineeti attend 'Amar Singh Chamkila' trailer launch

 Diljit, along with his co-star Parineeti Chopra, director Imtiaz Ali and music composer AR Rahman, was seen unveiling the trailer of Chamkila, which is a biopic of the slain Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh became emotional after director Imtiaz Ali praised him, saying that despite his achievements, it's just the beginning for him. Imtiaz Ali stated, "Sab kehte hain aapne bohot kuch achieve kar liya hai lekin ye bas aapki shuruwat hai... Aap jaha bhi jaaoge, hum bhi aapke saath chalenge," leaving the actor emotional.  Parineeti Chopra also sang some of the songs from the film. Kailash Kher and AR Rahman also put up a special performance for the audience

Diljit Dosanjh: Apprehensive Of Bollywood Making A Film On 'Amar Singh Chamkila'

Imtiaz Ali’s Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra-starrer biopic 'Chamkila' on singer Amar Singh Chamkila is set to premiere on Netflix on April 12. This Netfliz movie is based on the life of the singer, who was assassinated at the age of 27. Talking about the biopic at a press meet, Diljit stated that he was initially apprehensive about how the film would be made. While Parineeti Chopra mentioned that she had to work hard to be able to play the character of Amarjot Kaur but had Diljit Dosanjh as her teacher on set. Watch the full video for more!
