Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists that a "victimized" Wayne Rooney will take out his indignation over a two-match Football Association (FA) ban on Champions League opponents Chelsea.

Ferguson, whose side takes a 1-0 lead into Tuesday's quarterfinal second leg, knows that the striker's suspension does not include European competition.

"Knowing Wayne, he will be spurred on by what has happened to him. It won't crush him, that's for sure,"

"Wayne is disappointed. He thinks he has been victimized. The way we are looking at it is to use this for our fans. They have been great. The players too will show their determination," he added.

The FA suspended Rooney for two games for his foul-mouthed rant during the match against West Ham United at Upton Park.u00a0

Rooney was heard using the F-word twice ufffd the first after he converted his third goal and the second when he appeared to respond to a remark made off-camera.
