Blues complete most expensive coaching appointment; Pay Porto ufffd13.3m for AndreAndre Villas-Boas' appointment as Chelsea manager was finally confirmed yesterday morning, with the Premier League club maintaining the Portuguese coach was the "outstanding candidate for the job".

PIC/Getty Images Villas-Boas, who guided Porto to domestic and Europa League success last season, not only becomes the youngest ever Premier League manager but also the most expensive coaching appointment ever after Chelsea paid Porto ufffd13.3 million (15 million euros, $21.35m) to trigger the release clause in Villas-Boas's contract.u00a0
He is also no stranger to the west London club, working there under as part of the backroom staff under Jose Mourinho, whom he followed to Inter Milan.
The Portuguese will start his new position "immediately" following his departure from Porto.
The club statement read: "His (Andre) ambition, drive and determination matches that of Chelsea and we are confident Andre's leadership will result in greater successes in major domestic and European competitions."u00a0
At just 33 Villas-Boas will be the youngest manager in theu00a0 Premier League.
"Don't expect something from one man," he told Chelsea TV.
"Expect us to create a group dynamic of everybody getting together, with the fans getting together, with
people getting excited with the motivation that is in and around us.
"In the new way of communicating and the new leadership - this is the most important thing.
"It is not about my arrival. It is about the continuos success of this club.
"I am an individual who has that hunger for success and I want to keep it that way."
