Deccan Chargers
ADAM GILCHRIST: The Chargers skipper has been ruthless with the bat and unrelenting with the gloves. He will look to murder the opposition with the bat as he did in the last two season of the IPL.
CHAMINDA VAAS: Sri Lanka's premier fast bowler has an arsenal of bowling techniques and his skills with the bat are equally impressive. His enormous international experience will also come in handy.
ROHIT SHARMA: He was one of the leading run-getters in the first edition of the IPL and had some good performances in the second as well. Aggressive with all the shots in the book, the side will depend a lot on his willow ways.
ANDREW SYMONDS : One of the biggest hitters of the cricket ball, who can take the match away in a matter of overs. Also very handy with the ball, be it seam up or bowling off spinners.
KEMAR ROACH: Pace is his biggest weapon and he will be looking to run in and bowl as quick as possible. Young and aggressive, Roach could be one of the stars of this IPL.
HERSCHELLE GIBBS : On his day, Gibbs can be as destructive as any other batsmen in the world. Equally comfortable playing on the front or back foot, he's a match-winner all the way.
PRAGYAN OJHA : He's been one of the finds of the IPL and his left-arm bowling has troubled even the best of batsmen. Skipper Adam Gilchrist always turned to him for wickets and he has not let his side down.
DWAYNE SMITH : A typical West Indian who loves to throw his bat at anything wide or short. Has the ability to hit huge sixes and is also a very capable medium pacer.
RP SINGH: Had a great run in the second IPL but has been off-colour since then. He has swing and decent pace and the left-arm pacer could be an ideal partner to Kemar Roach.
HARMEET SINGH: A talented left-arm spinner from Mumbai, 17-year old Harmeet Singh was one of the few members of the Under-19 squad for the 2010 World Cup in New Zealand with first-class experience.
AZHAR BILAKHIA: A hard-hitting batsman from Gujarat, Bilakhia has had his moments in the IPL but will struggle to find a regular place in the playing XI.
T SUMAN: He was one of the revelations of the second IPL, coming into bat up the order and tonking the ball around almost at will. He was also very impressive with his off-spins.
VENUGOPAL RAO: An aggressive batsman once tipped to serve India for a long time, Rao has done quite well for Chargers in both editions.
RYAN HARRIS: His exploits with the new ball for Australia during their summer campaign at home recently makes him one of the most in-form players in the IPL
VVS LAXMAN: Led the side in the first edition of the IPL before an injury sidelined him. Did not play a major part in the second edition but his presence in the dug out is a huge influence.
