Kolkata Knight Riders
SHANE BOND: One of the fastest bowlers around, Shane Bond's full-time availability for the IPL makes him one of the most influential players in the side.
BRENDON MCCULLUM: His unbeaten 158 in the opening match of the inaugural IPL is still fresh in everyone's memory. But his performances in the second edition were not up to the mark.
CHRIS GAYLE : The West Indies captain is easily one of the most destructive batsmen in cricket. Strong and tall, he can hit the ball a long away and is also very effective with his quick off-spinners.
ISHANT SHARMA: Not in the best of form, Ishant will be looking to get back among the wickets. Tall and quick, Ishant can be quite a handful against even the best of batsmen.
AJANTA MENDIS: His carom ball may not be as mysterious as it was when he started his international career, but Mendis' accurate off-spin bowling is still very lethal.
SOURAV GANGULY: As skipper he can inspire the side to give their best and as a batsman he can dictate proceeding from the word go. Easily one of the best timers of a cricket ball.
AJIT AGARKAR: Quick and has the ability to swing the ball away fro the right-hander. Also, very handy with the bat, but Agarkar's main problem has been his consistency.
ANGELO MATHEWS: He can play a key role for the side with his accurate medium pace bowling and meaty hitting. He has been one of the key players for Sri Lanka in recent times.
MANOJ TIWARY: A talented batsman, who has not lived up to his potential, the right-handed Tiwary has all the shots in the book and the confidence to tear apart any attack.
MURALI KARTIK: One of the best left-arm bowlers to play for India in recent times, Kartik has been playing T20 cricket in England even before IPL began and will bring in all his experience to the side.
CHARL LANGEVELDT: One of the specialist limited overs bowlers who does not have a lot of pace but makes up for it with variations. Quite handy in the slog overs and during the powerplays.
ASHOKE DINDA: Impressed in the inaugural edition after he was picked ahead of several senior bowlers in the side. Not very quick but has the ability to surprise the batsman.
WRIDDHIMAN SAHA: An accomplished batsman and a good wicketkeeper, Saha did not have a good Test debut recently but can prove his worth in the IPL.
