Banned indefinately by the PCB, former captian to play for Surrey till mid-July, errant Piyush Chawla denied permission by BCCI
Pakistan's suspended former captain Younis Khan has signed to play for Surrey in all competitions until mid-July.
Younus has been banned indefinitely from playing for Pakistan after he was ruled to be guilty of team 'infighting' during Pakistan's tour of Australia earlier this year.
The 32-year-old batsman is expected to join Surrey next week. He will not be joined by India's Piyush Chawla at The Oval, Surrey revealed. The leg-spinner has been refused permission by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Surrey's professional cricket manager Chris Adams feels Younis will have a 'positive influence' on the side.
"Bringing world class players such as Younis here will have a very positive effect on the side," Adams was quoted as saying in the Guardian.
"As well as benefiting from the weight of runs, we hope he will bring, we have a number of young batsman who will doubtless benefit greatly from being able to train and play alongside him."
