The ICC World Cup 2023 clash between India and the Netherlands saw the domination of Indian batters over the Dutch bowlers. The 'Men in Blue' set a target of 411 runs for the 'Dutch' to chase down. Shreyas Iyer muscled up his shots and smashed 128 runs in just 94 deliveries. Accompanying him was India's wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul who played a blistering knock of 102 runs. Both made a partnership of 200 runs.
Openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill completed their 100-run stand after which Teja Nidamanuru took a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss Gill. Soon, Bas de Leede made another breakthrough for the Netherlands by picking the wicket of the Indian skipper. Rohit and Gill scored 61 runs and 51 runs, respectively.

Thereafter, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer took the responsibility of Indian batting on their shoulders. Kohli completed his half-century in 53 balls and with this, he is now the leading run scorer in the ICC World Cup 2023. Later, Roelof van der Merwe nutmegged Kohli for 51 runs.

KL Rahul joined Iyer in the middle. Iyer played a shot towards covers and completed his 18th ODI fifty in 48 balls. Both completed their 100-run stand at the end of 42nd over. Rahul then completed his 17th ODI half-century in just 40 deliveries. The Dutch bowlers found it difficult to dismiss both of them.
