India vs Pakistan, October 15 – Ahmedabad

The much-anticipated India-Pakistan matches always pull huge crowds and are accompanied by high expectations. India have dominated the contest between the two teams, winning all seven clashes at 50-over World Cups. Indian fans will hope to see Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli repeat their impressive performances from previous encounters. Pakistan will also be keen to emerge winners in this significant clash.

England vs New Zealand, October 5 - Ahmedabad

The two teams who starred in the thrilling final of the last edition of ODI World Cup will face each other in the tournament opener. An early win will be important for both England and New Zealand in setting up a momentum for rest of the matches.

India vs Australia, October 8 - Chennai

India will go against Australia in their campaign opener on October 8. This match remains crucial as two of the best ODI teams, who know each other quite well, will be looking to prove their intention to emulate their previous World Cup victories. India might have an extra incentive to win, having just lost to Australia in WTC final 2023.

Australia vs South Africa, October 13 – Lucknow

South Africa won only three matches in 2019 World Cup but one of those victories was against Australia with a century from Faf du plessis. If South Africa win their opening match in Lucknow, this will be a crucial game as they look to reach the knockout stages of the event for the first time since 2015.

Bangladesh vs Afghanistan, October 7 – Dharamsala

Bangladesh proved to be a surprise package during the World Cup qualifying process as they finished third during the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. To continue that form, it will be imperative for them to register a victory in their opening match against Afghanistan. Afghanistan’s bowlers can prove to be the team’s strength.
