Yash (13) scored four goals, three of them within the first 15 minutes of the game itself, to seal a comfortable victory for the Dadar outfit.
Yash praised his teammates for helping him score. "I don't think I've ever scored four goals in a game before. I'm very happy with that. I owe it to my teammates. They gave me the ball and helped me to score. They deserve credit for the win as much as I do," Yash told MiD DAY.
Saahil Makwana was also on target for newcomers Guru Nanak.
Guru Nanak coach Pravin Rao hailed the boys' talent. He felt the boys could go a long way if the school authorities showed them some leniency. "There are many talented boys in the team. But they are unable to showcase their talent due to lack of support from school authorities. Their (school authorities) responsibilities don't end just by giving permission to play in MSSA.
"There are no proper jerseys. If these boys reach five minutes late for their classes after practice then the school sends a complaint to their parents. It's unfair. The school should take a softer stand towards kids who play. But by sending a complaint to the parents, the school is indirectly demoralising the kids," Rao told MiD DAY.u00a0
