Meet a person with a skill you can use
When Fernandes was 9 years old, he watched the movie The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (1978) and was instantly fascinated by the Shaolin monks who practised aggressive martial arts and yet stayed calm. At 14, he started his journey towards self-defence and kung fu, and trained in its basics under Master Lazarus Mascarenhas in Kalyan, and graduated from the Beijing Institute of Physical Education, in advanced Wushu and Tai Chi He started the Life Institute of Tai Chi & Martial Arts (LITMA), with the aim of empowering the young and the old through the art of self-defence. He trains students between the ages of 5 and 45 helping them turn their bodies into weapons inorder to protect themselves. He also educates them about the art form and its importance. For underprivileged students, he holds classes free of cost.
