Skullcandy wireless earbuds
The Jib True is a pair of true wireless earbuds from Skullcandy. The colour scheme for the earphones power bank/box is a wild blue and yellow. I like the colours. Housed inside is a pair of blue earbuds with red tips.
The case of the earphones feels a little flimsy, but has a nice satisfying snap when it closes. The case has about 16 hours worth of battery life, while the earphones has around six hours, which is a little less.
The Jib True connects with very little fuss to anything you wish to pair it with, I connected it to my smartphone, laptop and iPad and easily switched between the devices. You can also use only one bud at a time if you wish to. The controls happen with a button on the earphones. I didn't like pressing the button as it pushed the earphone further down the ear canal and made it uncomfortable. The best way to press the button is to hold the earphones and do it. That takes a little getting used to.
The sound quality from the earphones was pretty decent. It belted out everything I threw at it and had very good volume. However, the right earbud on my test unit developed a tear in the diaphragm which in turn started making fluttering sounds even at low volumes.
It became completely unusable. There is no way to solve a physical flaw in such an ear set, which means they need to be replaced and the one-year warranty will come in handy here.
The Skullcandy Jib True has a lot going for it - the earbuds are water resistant, the overall sound quality is decent and it is very competitively priced Rs 2,999. While I do like these earphones, I have serious doubts about their durability. I wish the Skullcandy Jib True delivered on the build quality so I don't have to rely on the warranty.
