PMMY scheme crosses 52 crore loans, Rs 33.65 lakh crore disbursed

A significant share of beneficiaries includes women entrepreneurs (around 70 pc) and borrowers from SC, ST, and OBC categories (about 50 pc). While Shishu loans account for the majority in number, higher-value loans fall under Kishor and Tarun categories

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) has sanctioned more than 52.37 crore loans disbursing a total of Rs. 33.65 lakh crore since its launch in April 2015, according to an official fact-sheet.
Around 70 per cent of loans went to women entrepreneurs and about 50 per cent to borrowers from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Classes, the fact-sheet said as per IANS reports.
