Janhvi Kapoor on 'renting' clothes

Appearing on Mashable India's 'The Bombay Journey' session, Janhvi opened up about how she wears clothes which are taken on 'Bhada' aka rent. She expressed, “Whenever the stylists call for clothes, they’re mostly rented. The shoes and rings are mine but the necklace and bracelets are not mine. The shirt is also not mine. Bhaade ke hain!”

While clarifying that the outfits are customised for her, she has to return it once an event is over with, "Of course, these are customised for me, but they’ve all been rented. This entire look is put together by renting clothes and accessories. In sabko lautana padta hai (We have to return them) Does that qualify as being sustainable?” she asked.

“I repeat clothes. Mera ek night suit hai which I refuse to let go of. It has the face of my favourite embossed on it,” she further divulged.

About Janhvi Kapoor's outfits for 'Mr and Mrs Mahi' promotions

Janhvi Kapoor who is all set to win audiences hearts with her upcoming film, 'Mr and Mrs Mahi' in the end of the month was recently seen promoting her film in Varanasi. She donned a beautiful saree! But here’s what was really unique about it!

At the Ganga Aarti, with co-star Rajkumar Rao, she was seen wearing a metallic light blue saree that has delicate warli painting that portrays the cricket stadium and the evolution of the cricket bat is highlighted flanked by the foundational cricket jargon! Warli painting is one of the hardest prints to print, especially on something as delicate as a saree. And this, is simply beautiful.

Describing the look, stylist Ami Patel wrote, "A traditional kanjivaram saree with a hand painted cricket detail. The pallu depicts a batsman scoring a boundary in a full stadium, 1983 when India won he World Cup, in the traditional warli style of painting. The evolution of the cricket bat is also highlighted flanked by the foundational cricket jargon".

During the promotions of ‘Mr. & Mrs. Mahi’, a film based on cricket and the aspiration for the game, Janhvi has incorporated cricket-themed elements into her outfits. Her sartorial choices have included sporty chic looks that blend the vibrant energy of cricket with high fashion. From jersey-inspired tops to cricket helmet motifs integrated into her accessories, Janhvi has ensured that each look resonates with the film’s spirit.
