Controversial Assamese actress Sumi Borah and her husband Tarkik Borah were sent to judicial custody by the Court after the police did not appeal for an extension of the custody of the accused couple in the multi-crore online trading scam. The initial five days of police custody of Borah and her husband ended on Monday and the duo was produced before the court on Tuesday. As the police did not ask for an extension of their custody, the couple was sent to the Dibrugarh Central Jail.

Earlier, it was alleged that the controversial actress was not cooperating with the investigation team and the police might ask for a prolongation of their custody.
