Ajay Devgn and Mohanlal
Ajay Devgn is the face of the Hindi remake of the hit film Drishyam, originally a Malayalam film starring Mohanlal in the lead. Now, one hears that Ajay has expressed interest in remaking another Mohanlal hit for Hindi audiences. Earlier this year, Mohanlal broke box-office records with his film Thudarum, directed by Tharun Moorthy.
Speaking in an interview at IFFI, Tharun Moorthy revealed that he has been receiving offers from other industries to remake Thudarum, which was a massive hit. The director said he has been asked to helm the Hindi remake as well, but due to prior commitments, he is unable to agree at the moment. When asked who he would like to see reprise Mohanlal’s role in the Hindi version, he chose Ajay Devgn, citing Devgn’s stuntman background and his father’s connection to the profession. “He will be able to relate emotionally to the character,” Moorthy said.
