For Ali Fazal, the past two months were all about two cities and two different stories. Since October, the actor was filming the last leg of Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947 in Mumbai and Punjab, juggling it with the Varanasi schedule of Mirzapur: The Film. Last week, he wrapped up his portions in the Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, and Shabana Azmi-led period drama that is set against the backdrop of India’s partition.
Reflecting on being part of the Aamir Khan production, Fazal said that the experience surpassed his expectations. “Working under Rajkumar Santoshi sir’s direction has been a masterclass, and sharing screen space with powerhouses like Sunny sir, Preity ma’am, and Shabanaji has been an honour. Each day on set felt like a lesson in humility and dedication to the craft,” he said.
