According to reports, Amitabh Bachchan was offered a major role in Tarun Mansukhani`s multi-starrer Housefull 5. However, the veteran actor declined the role and it eventually went to one of his famous co-stars.

Housefull 5 has been enjoying a great run at the box office. The film featuring an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, Chunky Pandey, Nikitin Dheer, and Johnny Lever released on June 6 and has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office in just four days. It is clearly one of the biggest multi-starrer films of recent times. However, a latest report claims that the makers had even approached superstar Amitabh Bachchan with an important role in the film. that we have seen in Bollywood. But, according to a report, this film would have been bigger because even Amitabh Bachchan was offered a role in it.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Amitabh Bachchan was offered the role of the senior cop in Housefull 5. The same role is played by Nana Patekar in the film now. A source reportedly told the portal that initially, Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar were planned to play the role of the cops. The makers wanted to have the iconic Uday-Majnu chemistry on screen with the two actors. However, Anil declined the role. The two roles are now headlined by the Khalnayak duo Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff.
