Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, is set to release this year. The film was recently screened for the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The censor board has reportedly asked the makers to follow a series of changes and alterations for a smooth release. This also includes a ‘urinating scene’ that features the lead actor.
According to a report by The Hindu, Dhadak 2 has been granted ‘U/A 16+’ certification. A Hindi dialogue which states, “3,000 years of backlog will not be cleared in just 70 years,” has been changed to “The backlog of age-old discrimination will not be cleared in just 70 years.” A 5-second shot of an actor urinating on Nilesh (Chaturvedi) was censored. Besides that, the use of casteist slurs like “cha***” and “bha***” have also been muted and replaced with “junglee”. A 3-minute scene featuring the lead actor’s father getting humiliated was also trimmed. Besides that, a scene involving violence against a woman was cut to a black screen.
