Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Patani, has been granted a weapons licence two months after gunmen fired at her Bareilly residence following remarks by her sister. The move comes after police action and security measures ensured by Uttar Pradesh authorities

Disha Patani`s Bareilly residence was attacked after shots were fired at her home in the wee hours of September. According to police, two motorbike-borne assailants fired shots at the residence around 3:30 am. The attack happened after her sister Khushboo Patani made certain remarks on Hindu saints Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. As per the latest development, the Bareilly district administration has issued a weapons licence to Jagdish Patani.
Jagdish Patani, a retired DSP, had approached the Bareilly District Magistrate after a criminal gang fired at Disha Patani`s ancestral home. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had assured him of security following the incident.
