Singer Monali Thakur who made her acting debut in Raja Sen`s Bengali film Krishnakanter Will, followed by a Bollywood debut in Nagesh Kukunoor`s Lakshmi, will now star in Dukaan, the directorial debut of writers of movies like Kabir Singh and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Siddharth-Garima. Monali also had a guest appearance as a Kashmiri Girl in 2014 film PK. Thakur has also a played a cameo role in film Secret Superstar released in 2017.

A source close to the project revealed, “Monali started shooting for the film in Gujarat on Wednesday and is excited to play one of the two protagonists in Dukaan.” More details on her part will be announced in the next few days.
