The film was finally released globally on September 12, except in India. The film was initially scheduled for release on May 9. However, it was banned following the Pahalgam terror attack and subsequent political tensions between India and Pakistan. Recently, reports surfaced on the internet claiming that the film would finally hit Indian cinemas on September 26. Clarifying the reports, the Press Information Bureau`s (PIB) fact-check account on social media clarified that the claims were false. The post on X (formerly Twitter) read, "It is being claimed by several media outlets that the film `Aabeer Gulaal` starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor will release in Indian cinemas on September 26, 2025. PIBFactCheck. This claim is FAKE. No such clearance has been granted for this film."
