Give me some action

A high-octane cinematic ride is on the horizon as Tiger Shroff and Janhvi Kapoor gear up for their first film together, reportedly helmed by filmmaker Raj Mehta. This will mark Raj’s foray into the action genre after making comedies like Good Newwz (2019) and Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022), among others. Lakshya is also expected to join the cast soon. The buzz is that Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions will back this action entertainer.  Conceptualised in 2023, the working title for the Tiger-Janhvi starrer is reportedly Deadly, and the pre-production is underway. We have learnt that the team has now reworked and revised the film extensively, and the principal photography is set to begin post-monsoon. While this will be Tiger’s second project with the Dharma after Student of the year 2 (2019), Janhvi continues her successful collaboration with with the banner, having worked on five of its projects including, Dhadak (2018), Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020), Mr & Mrs Mahi (2024). She will also be seen in Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari with Varun Dhawan.

Up for a second round

Less than a month since it dropped online, The Royals has been renewed for a second season. A fresh take on modern-day Indian royalty, the popular drama has all the ingredients of a feel-good romcom, although it lacks that spark of chemistry between the leads — Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter. On May 28, the makers announced the news on social media, writing, “Old money, new blood and a new season is in the works. The Royals Season 2 is coming soon, only on Netflix.” The first season featured a talented ensemble cast, including Ishaan, Bhumi, Sakshi Tanwar, and Zeenat Aman.
