‘Create room for love’

Actor Vaani Kapoor has spoken out against rising negativity on social media, months after facing backlash for her role opposite Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in the yet-unreleased film, Abir Gulaal. “Last couple of months, years, everything became hectic and heavy on social media,” she said at the trailer launch of her OTT debut, Mandala Murders, in Mumbai. “I hope one can calm down on hate, create room for love and kindness. What you give will come back to you. If you troll somebody, it’s going to sting you worse.” Mandala Murders, a mythological crime thriller, directed by Gopi Puthran, marks the actor’s first long-format project. The show, produced by YRF Entertainment, also stars Surveen Chawla, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Raghubir Yadav. It will stream on Netflix from July 25.
