A new controversy involving Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has arisen as a result of anger among some Hindu organizations over the participation of Bangladeshi players in the Indian Premier League. Amid protests connected to recent violence in Bangladesh, the actor, who owns an IPL franchise, has received harsh criticism.
In a highly provocative declaration on Thursday, Meera Rathore, district president of the All India Hindu Mahasabha in Agra, declared that anyone who "brings Shah Rukh Khan`s tongue" would receive a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh. Speaking to reporters in Mathura, where she had traveled to give a testimony regarding the ongoing Aniruddha Acharya Maharaj case, Rathore made the comments.
