Ikkis is all set to release in theatres on January 1, 2026. The film is based on the life of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery during the 1971 India–Pakistan war. Ahead of its big screen release, the film has cleared the censor process. According to reports, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked the makers for certain modifications ahead of clearance.
The CBFC had reportedly demanded changes in the opening scenes and end credits. This included the addition of acknowledgements for the Poona Horse Regiment, Colonel Hanut Singh, and the tank crew in text as well as the voiceover in the opening disclaimer. The board also allegedly asked for a consent letter from a member of the Khetarpal family, given the genre of the film. It also requested documents for scenes based on true events.
