Actress Kalki Koechlin, who was previously married to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, recently opened up about their heart-breaking divorce and their cordial terms with each other post-separation. The couple met on the sets of her debut film Dev D, and tied the knot in 2011 at her maternal home in Ooty. However, later in 2013, they announced their separation and officially got divorced in 2015. The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actress opened up, revealing that it was not easy for either of them during the initial years of their separation.

During a recent interview with Zoom, Kalki revealed that there came a point when Anurag and she felt, "We need to stay out of each other’s lives." She adds, "It was hurtful to see the other person with somebody else; the reminders were just so strong." Post the divorce, the ex-couple continue to share a cordial relationship with each other.

She revealed that it took them a few years to get there. She noted that they didn’t immediately form a bond, and that they maintained some distance initially, which helped. "Now we are in a good place and we are able to catch up once in a while," she adds.
