Despite being the daughter of renowned filmmaker and actress Aparna Sen, Konkona Sen Sharma never felt like an insider in the industry. She has starred in over 50 movies and still feels that many of her films have not been commercial. In a candid conversation on mid-day’s podcast series Sit with Hitlist, she opened up about Wake Up Sid, feeling like an outsider, and working on her dialect in Omkara.
When asked about how different the Bombay film world is compared to Delhi, the actress shared, “I was actually very removed from the film industry world, I think. I`ve actually not really ever felt like an insider in anything. That`s almost been a part of my identity that I`m a little bit on the periphery of things and a bit of an outsider. I really enjoy that perspective. I don`t really see myself as a mainstream star.”
