Director Kussh Sinha opened up about Nikita Roy’s box office failure, saying the film was swept away by the massive wave of Saiyaara. While congratulating newcomers, he also took a dig at the film for being a remake and shared how their content was original

Kussh Sinha on Saiyaara
Saiyaara, marking the debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is storming the box office. The romantic drama, directed by Mohit Suri, has raked in a whooping Rs 250 crores so far. Along with Saiyaara, Tanvi The Great and Nikita Roy also released in theatres and due to the onslaught of romantic film, the other films tanked. Nikita Roy director Kussh Sinha has now reacted to the situation.
In a recent interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Kussh Sinha addressed the disappointing performance of Nikita Roy and shared, “We tried to get more screens, but sometimes, some films are swept along by a wave. At the same time, whichever theatre chains we’ve spoke to, they’ve seen the merit in the film and they’ve held on to it. Three films were released on the same day, and while everybody knows about the film that performed so well, the other film lost theatres.”
