Actor-model Malaika Arora`s father Anil Mehta allegedly died by suicide after he jumped off his residential building to death in Mumbai. According to reports he jumped from the terrace of his building in Bandra around 9am. A team of Bandra police rushed to the spot and shifted him to a hospital, where he was declared dead before arrival. The exact reason behind the incident was not yet known and an investigation is underway.

Malaika’s parents divorced when she was 11 years old, and she moved to Chembur with her mother and sister Amrita Arora. Her mother, Joyce Polycarp, is a Malayali Christian, and her father was a Punjabi, who worked in the Indian Merchant Navy.
