Mithun Chakraborty has been a part of the film industry for decades and has played a wide variety of roles. Apart from movies, the National Award-winning actor has also been active in politics since the 1970s. While he is currently a member of the ruling BJP, he was once a part of the Marxist Party of India. Recently, during a media interaction, the veteran actor expressed his interest in playing Cuban revolutionary leader Che Guevara.
During the interaction, when asked about the kind of roles he would like to take up, Mithun said, “People want me to play Osho. But from my heart, I want to play Che Guevara, the revolutionary leader.”
Ernesto "Che" Guevara was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat, politician and military theorist. A major figure of the Cuban Revolution, his stylized visage has become a countercultural symbol of rebellion and global insignia in popular culture.
