A massive fire engulfed the 12th to 14th floors of the Sorrento building in Andheri West, Mumbai, causing panic among residents. Filmmaker Sandeep Singh, whose premises were on the 14th floor, escaped unharmed as he wasn’t home and was recovering from surgery

A major fire broke out in the early hours of the morning at Sorrento building in Andheri West, Mumbai, gutting the 12th, 13th and 14th floors and triggering panic among residents. Fire tenders rushed to the spot soon after the blaze was reported, and firefighting operations continued for several hours as thick smoke engulfed the upper floors of the high-rise.
The fire caused extensive damage to multiple residential units, particularly on the 14th floor, which also houses the premises of filmmaker Sandeep Singh. Singh is known for producing several notable films, including Mary Kom, Sarbjit, Aligarh, Jhund, Savarkar, Safed and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Fortunately, the filmmaker was not at home at the time of the incident.
