Last year, on the occasion of Diwali, Akshay Kumar announced his ambitious film, Ram Setu. Since then, as the superstar continued to honour his other commitments, director Abhishek Sharma and the producers were on the hunt for a female lead for the drama. Now, it is heard that Jacqueline Fernandez is likely to be cast opposite Kumar.  

“While the makers were considering several actors, Jacqueline was their first choice. They initiated a discussion with her, and gave her a narration. Though she has liked the script, she has yet to sign on the dotted line,” reveals a source. Fernandez has collaborated with Kumar on several films, including Housefull 2 (2012), Housefull 3 (2016), Brothers (2015) and the upcoming Bachchan Pandey.
