Being a mother is sometimes regarded as one of the most significant life changes, and for actor Richa Chadha, that change started with fear. The actor talked candidly about the emotional roller coaster she went through after learning she was expecting a child.

Richa acknowledged in an interview with Lily Singh that she was initially afraid after having a child. Anxiety dominated her early thoughts, not only about the state of the world but also about the profound personal transformation that comes with becoming a mother.

Richa shared, "I was a little bit afraid. There's climate change, there's a genocide, there's so much rubbish going on in the world. Is having a child a good idea? When you are super independent, that bit changes instantly, because you have to be responsible for a human being. To commit to a child's only supply of food for the first six months at least is a big commitment. My initial response was fear. I was like, Oh my god, is my life over?"
