Shah Rukh Khan birthday 2023 calls for celebration and why not? The superstar surprised his fans with not just one but two blockbusters in a year and is gearing up for a hattrick with Dunki. Amid the euphoria, the makers of Jawan dropped a midnight surprise by announcing the release of the film's extended version on Netflix.

The Jawan extended version's premiere on Netflix left fans excited. A special promo was shot to announce the streaming of the film. The video started with Shah Rukh reprising his role from Jawan and calling Netflix, demanding the release of the actioner on the streaming platform. He said, "Else your ‘Tudum’ will be ‘Budum.’" His girl gang also made an appearance. During the banter with Netflix, Shah Rukh mentioned the name of his bungalow Mannat. He then forced the authorities at the OTT platform to release Jawan early. Shah Rukh finally announced, "A gift for you on my birthday. Watch Jawan streaming on Netflix."
Sharing the video, Netflix wrote on Instagram, "Birthday Jawan ka hai par gift sab ke liye. We're good to go! Jawan (the extended cut) is now streaming in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, only on Netflix."

Jawan released in theatres on September 7, 2023. At the Indian box office, the film collected approximately Rs. 640 crores. Globally, it crossed the 1000-crore club in its lifetime.
Jawan marked the Hindi directorial debut of Atlee. The film revolved around a cop named Azad who formed his girl gang to erase corruption and other political evils from society but in an unconventional way. He is joined by his father Vikram Rathore, an ex-Army man who has lost his memory. They team up to avenge the clean the society and avenge the death of Aishwarya (Deepika Padukone). Nayanthara made her debut in Hindi with Jawan.
Apart from Shah Rukh, Nayanthara, and Deepika, the film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Yogi Babu, Sunil Grover, Ridhi Dogra and Girija Godbole. Deepika is in a special appearance. The actress played Shah Rukh's wife and mother in the actioner. Sanjay Dutt also had a cameo in Jawan.
