Siddhant Chaturvedi opens up about losing Laila Majnu

Siddhant Chaturvedi recently shared that he was shortlisted for Laila Majnu at the age of 22 but lost the role as the makers felt he looked too young.He admitted to attending the film’s screening just to see what he had missed out on. The film eventually starred Avinash Tiwary with Triptii Dimri

Siddhant on auditioning for Laila Majnu

Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri are all set to share screen space in Dhadak 2. Before this, Triptii got critical acclaim for her stint in Laila Majnu alongside Avinash Tiwary. However, Siddhant Chaturvedi also auditioned for the role alongside the Animal actress. He reveals being rejected by makers for looking too young.

In an interview with Just too filmy, Siddhant revealed that he was shortlisted for the 2018 film. He shared, "I was shortlisted for Laila Majnu, and I was 22 at that point of time. (I came) very close. The thing is the guy had to be older than the girl. I didn`t know who was going to be playing the girl. It was my audition round days.
