Internet Movie Data Base, better known as IMDb, has curated the list of the top rated films of the year based on reviews and response of the critics and the audience. The movies that have made it on the list are Suriya’s Jai Bhim, that’s currently the highest rated film in the world, surpassing the rating of The Shawshank Redemption too. It’s currently rated a 9.5 out of 10.

The other movies on the list are Sidharth Malhotra’s Shershaah (8.7), Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham (8.8), Kriti Sanon’s Mimi (8), the south blockbuster Master (7.8), Karnan (8.2), Drishyam 2 (8.4), and Haseen Dillruba (6.9).
Amid the 'Jai Bhim' row that happened recently, actor Suriya took to social media to thank his fans for their support for the film.
The Vanniyar Sangam had issued a legal notice to actor Suriya and director TJ Gnanavel, demanding an unconditional apology from the makers of the film 'Jai Bhim' for portraying the community in a bad light.
Several fans posted messages on social media, supporting the Tamil star by sharing the trending hashtag #WestandWithSuriya.
Taking to his Twitter handle, the actor thanked his fans for the "overwhelming" support.
"Dear all, this love for #Jaibhim is overwhelming. I've never witnessed this before! Can't express in words how thankful I am for the trust and reassurance you all have given us. Heartfelt thanks for standing by us," he tweeted.
