Badshah has issued an apology to the National Commission for Women (NCW) in connection with the controversy surrounding his song Tateeree, while also pledging to support the education of 50 girls from economically weaker sections.

The rapper appeared before the commission after it took cognisance of complaints alleging that the song’s lyrics and visuals were objectionable and disrespectful towards women. During the hearing, the panel expressed serious concern over the content, stating that it had hurt “the dignity and decency of women.”
