Varun Dhawan is currently gearing up for the release of the film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf, and Sanya Malhotra. It will hit the big screens on October 2. The date is significant as it marks Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti. Big holidays are considered a good time to release films, in the hope that audiences will utilise their day off to catch up on entertainment at the theatres. This time, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari will see a clash with Rishab Shetty`s Kannada film Kantara: Chapter 1. Varun has now reacted to his Hindi film clashing with the Kannada magnum opus, whose previous film captured many hearts.
At the India Today Conclave 2025, Varun spoke about his film clashing with Kantara. "Honestly, while setting the release date, Dharma Productions, who have been making films for so many years, picked October 2. It’s a huge date because it’s both Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti. So, overall, the business expected on this day will be much bigger than a normal Friday. Almost Rs 70 crore worth of business is available to be done in Hindi alone," he said.
