Indian film director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri recently expressed his joy over the overwhelming response garnered by Oppenheimer in Kashmir, a film which is based on the life of American theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer. Furthermore, he announced that his own science-focused movie, The Vaccine War, co-produced with Pallavi Joshi, is also slated for release in Kashmir, a region where cinema houses once faced cinematic and creative bans and destruction in the '90s.
In a jubilant social media post, Agnihotri said, "BRILLIANT NEWS! Cinema halls were once burnt and banned in the 90s, but today, it's heartening to witness the first film to fill houses is a science-based one like 'Oppenheimer.' Science truly has the power to captivate and inspire, and I couldn't be happier for the makers of that incredible film!"
