War 2 still
Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 is all set to hit theatres on August 14. The film, which stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani in the lead, is part of the Yash Raj Films (YRF) spy universe. Ahead of its release, the makers have received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Reportedly, they have been asked to make several cuts to the film.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC directed the team to make changes in six instances to remove “inappropriate references.” This included deleting a two-second obscene gesture made by a character and replacing an obscene dialogue with a board-approved sentence.
The makers were also instructed to reduce sensual images by 50 percent—amounting to about nine seconds of screen time—possibly involving Kiara Advani’s much-talked-about bikini look. After the recommended changes were implemented, War 2 was passed with a U/A certificate on August 6.
