At WAVES Summit, Kareena Kapoor revealed that Steven Spielberg once praised 3 Idiots and said he loved it, proving she didn’t need a Hollywood film for recognition

Kareena Kapoor Khan has reiterated several times that unlike her contemporaries, she doesn`t harbour Hollywood aspirations. At the ongoing WAVES Summit, Kareena made a strong case for her indifference towards the prospect of an international career. The actor recalled the moment when legendary Hollywood filmmaker Steven Spielberg spoke to her about 2013 blockbuster 3 Idiots.
"Steven Spielberg was eating in the same restaurant as me. This was many moons ago, when 3 Idiots had just released. He came upto me and said, `Are you the girl from this Indian movie about three students?` I said, `Yes, that`s me.` He said, `My God! I love that movie!` I didn`t have to act in an English film for him to see it. He watched 3 Idiots!" she said at a panel discussion, moderated by filmmaker-friend Karan Johar.
