Months after Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan shared his fears about going wrong with his ambitious project Mahabharat in an interview with BBC, he has shed light on its progress and also revealed if he’d act in it. The Dangal actor is hoping to commence the project this year to roll it out in multiple parts. However, he maintains that before it can get materialised, the writing itself will take a couple of years.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir said, “We’ll see who we should cast based on who’s appropriate for which part.” However, he clarified that he would be the producer and not the director. Aamir elaborated, “I don’t think you can tell the Mahabharat in one film, so it will be multiple films. I am looking at the large scale. It’s too early to say, but we may need multiple directors." He cited the example of The Lord of the Rings.
