A source close to the production house told the portal, “No director has been signed yet. Please do not believe in rumors — we will officially announce all developments related to the project in due course.”

Why the rumors made sense

The speculation around Prithviraj directing the film isn’t surprising. The Malayalam superstar shares a strong professional relationship with Hombale Films and was part of Salaar: Part 1 alongside Prabhas. As a director, Prithviraj made a smashing debut with the 2019 film Lucifer, which broke box office records in Kerala. Its sequel, L2: Empuraan, released earlier this year and became the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever.
